KEY POINTS
Characteristics of the TPO membrane used
We install certified TPO membranes adapted to Quebec's climatic conditions, taking into account the specific use of each commercial building. Here are the key points to remember:
Single-ply TPO membrane, typically in a light colour (white or light grey)
Hot air welding of the joints for continuous sealing
Compatible with various insulation systems (polyiso, EPS, etc.)
Resistant to UV radiation, ozone, and several common chemicals
An interesting solution for reducing urban heat islands when combined with a comprehensive building design

TPO membrane for your flat roof, a smart and durable choice
The TPO (thermoplastic polyolefin) membrane is a modern and lightweight roofing solution, particularly valued for its light color and ability to reflect sunlight . It helps reduce heat buildup on the roof, which can help decrease the air conditioning needs of some commercial buildings.
Offered in large hot-air welded sheets, the TPO membrane provides reliable sealing and a uniform finish, ideal for flat roofs of commercial buildings, office buildings, warehouses and industrial buildings.
THE ADVANTAGES
Flat roof made of TPO membrane
Reflective roof
The clear surface of the TPO membrane reflects a significant portion of solar radiation, which helps to limit roof overheating and improve interior comfort.
Quick and easy installation
The TPO membrane is lightweight and available in large widths, which reduces the number of joints and speeds up installation on large commercial areas.
Simplified maintenance
Its smooth surface is easy to clean and facilitates visual inspection, allowing for more effective monitoring of the roof's condition.
UV and chemical resistance
The TPO membrane offers good resistance to UV rays, ozone and several chemical agents, making it an attractive choice for certain industrial environments.
A solution suitable for energy-efficient buildings
Often preferred for buildings seeking to improve their energy performance or to be part of a sustainable construction approach.

The steps of a TPO membrane roofing project
1
TECHNICAL INSPECTION
Analysis of the existing roof, structure, slopes and insulation system. Verification of the compatibility of the substrate with a single-layer membrane.
2
Preparing the support
Slope correction, bridge repair or replacement, adding or upgrading insulation to optimize energy efficiency.
3
Installation of insulation and support panels
Installation of the insulating panels and the base required for the installation of the TPO membrane (mechanically fixed or adhered).
4
Installation of the TPO membrane
Unrolling the membrane in large panels and welding the seams with hot air, creating a continuous and airtight surface.
5
Finishing touches
Careful treatment of upstands, roof edges, drains, vents and mechanical units, using custom-made pre-formed or welded membrane pieces.
6
Final inspection and cleaning
Complete verification of welds, finishing details and drainage, followed by site cleanup and explanation of recommended maintenance.
